Remove "Browser Protect" Browser Adware

Browser Protect is a browser hijacker adware program that changes the home page or search settings of a web browser and makes it difficult to change it back and does so without your direct permission. Browser Protect is typically bundled with free programs that you download off of the Internet. These programs are free because they include adware programs, including browser hijackers, which generate revenue for the publisher when they are installed. Browser Protect is very similar to adware-type programs, so they both should be avoided. If you want to protect your privacy and improve your PC’s security, you should remove the Browser Protect browser hijacker from the computer.
Browser Protect is a potentially unwanted program, usually a web browser add-on or plugin, that modifies web browser’s settings in order to change the default search engine, the start page or the new page. It can also redirect users to its affiliate websites and record their browsing activity, search terms, mostly visited websites and similar information, which is additionally revealed to related parties. Browser Protect is used to boost advertising revenue, as in the use of black hat Search Engine Optimization, to inflate a site’s page ranking in search results. You may find that you cannot change your browser’s homepage once it has been hijacked. Browser Protect may edit the Windows registry so that the hijacked settings are restored every time you restart your computer. Browser Protect may also remove options from the browser’s tools menu, so that you can’t reset the start page. Browser hijackers such as Browser Protect can be very tenacious, as well as sneaky. Publishers of Browser Protect use click-jacking, also known as a UI redress attack, by inserting multiple transparent, or opaque, layers on a webpage. This technique can trick a user into clicking on a button or link on a page other than the one they were intending to click on. Effectively the publisher is hijacking clicks meant for one page and routing them to other another page, most likely owned by another application, domain, or both.
